“2021 is a vintage that has not spared us. The season started with a first frost on April 4/5, then a second on May 4/5. The heat only arrived in the last week of May. After that, the storms appeared just after flowering and brought us 100mm of rain (treatments impossible for 8 to 10 days). The mildew therefore took advantage of this to settle in and fine-tune the work. In the end, I had 15hl/ha left on 3.5ha, it's better than nothing!
Given the low yields, I decided to blend and vinify a single vat of white and a single vat of red. Mille Sabords is a blend of all my Chenin plots (1.9 ha on 4 plots. Vines from 30 to 70 years old). Direct pressing and aging in fiber vats.
Capacity 75 cl, alcohol content 13.5%.

A word from the winemaker:
"For my part, I have been established since 2013 on 3ha in St Lambert du Lattay in Anjou in the Coteaux du Layon. I recently moved to 3.5ha to compensate for the complicated years. All my vines are on schist (last limits of the Armorican massif).
My estate has been in Ecocert certified organic farming since the beginning. All my vines have, until now, been plowed and decavailled. In terms of winemaking: no inputs, sulfites are banned and no filtration.

Label & Natural Wines

Some labels can help us identify a natural wine. The AB label, for example, certifies organic farming. The Demeter label, for its part, guarantees biodynamics. There is also the 'Vin Méthode Nature' label, as well as 'Nature et Progrès', 'Les Vins SAINS', and many others.

Some estates choose to adhere to a single label, or even not to be labeled at all, even though their cultivation and winemaking method would allow it. In other words, there is no strict rule. It all depends on the winemaker's vision, his desires, and his convictions.

For us, it is important to meet all the people we work with in order to understand their working method and select the products that match our ideology.

Natural wine

At Terra Vinea, we are deeply passionate about natural wine. We love the emotions it arouses, the surprises a bottle can give us, the memories wine gives us. We also find it important to consume a product grown and vinified with respect for the fauna and flora, preserving all the life around and in it. These convictions are part of us, and we are proud to represent these women and men who put their heart and soul into offering us these living wines.
